TAR UMT Faculty of Built Environment (FOBE) Associate Dean, Ts Br Ng Teck Wei is now a full-fledged Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the world’s largest and most influential professional body in the field of construction management.

Ts Br Ng was awarded this title in 2025, and it was formally recognised during the CIOB Graduation Ceremony held on 11 September 2026 in London, UK.

Chartered Fellowship, the highest distinction of membership with CIOB, is awarded to those with extensive experience, proven leadership, and demonstrated significant contributions to the industry. It connects individuals to a global network of elite professionals and upholds high ethical and professional standards, enhancing their influence and credibility in this field.

“I am happy to have achieved this milestone because CIOB is the professional body that is the most relevant to my career in the construction management industry.

“On top of the recognition, becoming a Fellow will further expand my connections and network with the relevant industries and partners, which can lead to more industry-academia collaboration opportunities at TAR UMT. I am looking forward to contributing more towards the development and advancement of construction management education in Malaysia from here on,” said Ts Br Ng.

Ts Br Ng was also conferred the Emerging Achiever of the Year award that recognises rising talents and emerging leaders who demonstrate excellence in the built environment industry. He received this recognition at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Southeast Asia Awards 2026 held on 29 October 2026.
