Planting the mangrove saplings.
In celebration of World Mangrove Day, the Sabah Wetland Conservation Society hosted a meaningful conservation event at the Wetland Ramsar site, drawing 16 enthusiastic students and 2 dedicated staff. The group engaged in a full morning of exciting activities —bird watching to appreciate the local biodiversity, a clean-up drive to remove trash and debris, and hands-on seeding and replanting of mangrove saplings. These activities contribute to the restoration of vital coastal habitat and fosters environmental stewardship among the next generation, reinforcing the critical importance of mangroves in climate resilience and wildlife protection.
